Redesigned cabs, a new look, new transmission and engine features and a new smart display are the highlights of Valtra’s fifth generation N and T Series tractors.
One of the most visible new features is the display on the A-pillar. Replacing the traditional instrument panel behind the steering wheel, all the important information can be seen on the colour screen.
The top of the display always shows default information, such as the driving speed, engine speed and time. Below that, the operator can select information for controlling the tractor and implement.
The display also shows the radio station and smartphone information over Bluetooth, and can also be used on HiTech and Active models to make all engine, hydraulics and transmission settings. On Versu and Direct models, the A-pillar display and SmartTouch divide the tasks according to suitability and operator preferences.
The steering column is also new, and adjusting the position of the slighter larger steering wheel is said to be easier. The updated forward-reverse shuttle lever makes for easier direction changes when switching between different controls such as the SmartTouch lever or the TwinTrac shuttle.
Starting off in the B and C speed ranges is said to be easy, even with a heavy load, thanks to the new Start Boost feature, and changing between speed ranges is faster.
The fifth generation N Series comprises the N135 (135/145hp), N155 Eco/Std (155/165hp) and N175 (165/201hp).
In SmartTouch models, the right side of the cab has been redesigned, and the seat swivels further to the right. The right control panel also has a phone holder and optional USB charging points for mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices.
The upper part of the backrest on the latest Evolution seat not only swivels with the driver, but also provides support when the operator partially turns around to look at rear implements.
In-cab options include a higher-quality dark premium interior, which can include a leather-covered steering wheel, partially chrome pedals and rubber padding at the bottom of the storage compartments.
The seven model T5 line-up ranges from the T145 (155/170hp) to the flagship T255 (235/271hp).
Around two in three new Valtra tractors leaving the Suolahti plant are equipped with automated steering or advanced smart farming solutions. Customers can also specify their new N or T Series tractor with Valtra Guide autoguidance and smart farming features such as Task Doc and Section Control.
Auto U-Pilot is new. Combining the Finnish tractor maker’s headland management system with Valtra Guide, Auto U-Pilot controls the implement with more precision in the headland.
Already in production and available now, the latest N and T Series models join the fifth generation G Series launched last year and the A Series earlier this year.
