The SH range of supplementary seeders brings increased versatility to Kuhn’s Venta, Espro and Aurock pneumatic drills, allowing them to sow a secondary crop, or apply starter fertilisers, granular herbicides or slug pellets.

The four SH models comprise the SH1120, SH1540, SH2560 and SH 4080, with hopper capacities of 110, 150, 250 and 400 litres respectively.

The SH1120 uses air from the drill’s main fan to direct product into the venturi to enable it to be applied with seed from the main tank. The larger three models are equipped with their own electrically driven fans and apply product via splash plates behind the main seeding lines. The company says application rates between 2.2kg/ha and 130kg/ha can be accurately achieved alongside the application from the main drill.

The SH seeder range includes four models with hopper capacities ranging from 110 litres up to 400 litres.

All models use the Helica volumetric seed metering system, which comes from the mechanical drills. Application rates are controlled through the ISObus system in relation to the forward speed of the tractor.

“In the case of the Espro RC and Aurock RC, which have split hoppers as standard, the SH seeder adds a third application possibility,” says Kuhn UK product specialist Ed Worts. “This allows a variety of applications to suit individual requirements and reduces the need for expensive seed mixtures.”
