The new magnets for fitting to the mixing augers on Bernard van Lengerich Maschinenfabrik (BvL) diet feeders are claimed to be twice as powerful as the previous versions.
Providing more power to catch metal objects hidden within the forage to reduce the risk of damaged feeding equipment, and of animals ingesting metallic objects, the additional strength of the new versions is due to two integrated continuous magnetic plates.
The company say the waterproof stainless steel container the magnets are housed in does not affect the operation of the mixing augers.
Available as an option on the complete range of BvL diet feeders, the new magnets cost £840/auger. They can also be retrofitted.
