Suitable for feeding around 300 dairy cows, the latest self-propelled mixer wagon from the German manufacturer, the SelfLine 4.0 System 300+, is available in four twin auger models from 19.0m³ to 27.0m³.
Sitting between the existing Compact and Premium (13.0m³ to 22.0m³) models and top-end SelfLine 4.0 System 500+ and 1000+ (19.0m³ to 32.0m³), the newcomer is largely based on the System 500+ concept.
Powered by a 5.1-litre four-pot 218hp Volvo Penta engine, the mixing tubs on the four twin auger System 300+ models provide capacities of 19.0m³, 22.0m³, 25.0m³ and 27.0m³.
Main features include an air-suspended chassis for increased comfort on the road at the maximum speed 25km/hr. Four wheel steer (standard) keeps the turning circle 9.0m, and the company says the 425/65R22.5 (front) and 435/50R22.5 (rear) tyres on the larger three models results in a high ground clearance and increased traction. (Front and rear tyre sizes on the 2519-19 are 385/65R22.5 and 455/40R22.5, respectively).
Driver in-cab assistance systems includes the automatic switch-off of the augers at the end of programmable mixing times or when a pre-programmed volume of feed has been dispensed.
The new mixer comes free with Siloking Data, a combination of programmable weighing system and feed management software.
Discharge options include a version to feed into high-sided troughs. Other options include a telematics system to transfer machine data to an app., and like the System 500+, the 300+ is available with a straw chopper.
Length of the 19.0m³ model is 8.93m (9.35m with cross conveyor belt). The others all stretch to 9.46m (9.88m with cross conveyor belt). Empty weights of the basic machines vary from 15.8t to 16.5t.
The plan was to preview the machine at EuroTier this month, which was postponed due to the Corona situation. We are not quite sure when we will have an opportunity to see the newcomer in the flesh, but production has started and we are informed it will come to the UK via Kverneland.
