Väderstad turnover increased by nearly a quarter last year to a record €420m (€340m in 2020). The increase was due in part to the acquisition of North American drill and cultivator manufacturer AGCO-Amity JV, but mainly to a strong increase in sales in the important markets, such as Russia, Canada, Sweden, Germany and England.
“2021 was a good year for many farmers with high grain prices and thus a stronger willingness to invest,” says Mattias Hovnert, senior vice president sales & marketing. “We increased our sales in all our product areas: tillage, seeding and planting. But above all we can see that our Tempo planter continues to gain market shares in several markets.”
Väderstad earnings increased from €19m in 2020 to €40m in 2021. “We will use the money to invest for a further expansion of our production facilities in Sweden, Canada and the US and to put even more focus on product development,” comments Mats Båverud, CEO of Väderstad.
Väderstad global staff numbers also grew last year to more than 1,900.
