The Wagtail Hose Humper is the first Tramspread hose handler that can pivot to either side of the tractor. Benefits include reduced crop damage because the operator does not have to leave the tramlines when moving the umbilical hose.
The technique is also said to make moving a hose much quicker and helps the operator to avoid obstacles more easily. Other claimed benefits include reduced stress on pipe and couplings, which the company reckons reduces the risk of leaks and spills and makes spreading safer and easier.
Suitable for hoses with a diameter up to 203mm (8”), the wheel can be set to spin freely or locked. Hydraulic offset and raising the wheel into the transport position is controlled from the tractor.
When raised, it leaves the tractor pick-up hitch available for other implements such as trailed hose reeler or pump trailer.
