Raven Industries says it has incorporated customer feedback in the latest version of its Omnipower autonomous vehicle, which is improved in terms of efficiency, capacity and uptime.

The new-look exterior is not the only change on the new 3200 model, which the North American company reckons is re-invented on the inside with new hydraulics and a more powerful 200hp Cummins Stage V engine.

The improved hydraulic system is claimed to put 50% more power to the ground to improve operating speeds from the two-speed hydrostatic transmission (0-6km/hr and 0-20km/hr). The North American company reckons the increase in power and improved hydraulics will allow the machine to run a little bit faster, allowing it to reach similar speeds to a tractor.

Other attachments are in the pipeline, but for now the vehicle can be fitted with a 10.0t capacity New Leader NL5000 G5 fertiliser spreader and a 36m Pattison sprayer with 6,000-litre spray tank. The machine can work autonomously with both.

Providing two- and four-wheel steering, the ISObus compatible 3200 (8.1t empty weight) has a length of just over 6.0m and the Michelin tyres are of the size 540/70 R24. Raven Industries is currently in the process of being acquired by CNH. It remains to be seen whether the new owner plans to bring the 3200 to Europe.
