Case IH was not the only one to reveal a new conventional flagship tractor in the US last week and fellow CNH stablemate New Holland also previewed the latest version of its T8 Genesis.
The build up to the launch followed a similar pattern to the Magnum with teaser pictures and video appearing on social media prior to the appearance of the tractor
Made at the same Racine factory as the Magnum, most of the noise New Holland is currently making about the T8 is on the higher levels of intelligence and connectivity.
There are no model, horsepower, engine or transmission details, and we can only assume that, like the Magnum, that the Stage IV 8.7-litre FPT Cursor 9 has been swapped for a Stage V block. If so, then the new top model is likely to kick out a few more horses than the 435hp of the current T8.435, which suggests that new model numbering could be on the way.
New Holland is keen to highlight the all-new cab, which provides fewer obstructions and no left-hand B-pillar. The instrument layout has been revised and operators now have nearly 360-degrees of visibility.
There is also more accessible storage, increased power ports and vents, strategically placed front and rear facing cameras and new 360-degree LED work lights.
New Holland reckons that the most innovative features extend far beyond the cab with the complete integration of the advanced Precision Land Management platform. We’ll no doubt be hearing more about all these latest digital capabilities when the T8 crosses the pond to Europe.
The burning question now is when will that be? There is nothing official, but we understand that this will not be at SIMA, but later in the year at Agritechnica.
In the meantime here is a video from Machinery Pete’s You Tube channel (which is always worth a look) as he talks through the details with New Holland’s Luke Zerby at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville.
