Providing 2,465Nm of torque at 1,350rpm, the maximum output of the Scania Stage V engine in the new four-wheel VT5563 is 550hp. Joining the existing 450hp VT4556 (19.5m³), the new model has a larger 22m³ tank.

Mated to the new VVT550 transmission, the in-house developed infinitely variable box reaches its top speed of 40km/hr at a fuel-saving 1080rpm. A standard 12,000-litre displacement pump can be swapped for the optional VHP (high performance pump). This increases the loading capacity to 16,000lit/min filling the polyester tank in one and a half minutes. The suction arm allows loading from both left and right sides.

With crab steering, powered axles and little metal ahead of the front axle, the VT5536 (550hp, third generation, six-cylinder) is described as both compact and manoeuvrable, and the detachable pump-filter unit and removable slurry tank allows it to work as a tool carrier.

The cab comes standard with automatic air conditioning, Grammer Maximo seat, multifunction displays/joystick and the updated VTC 2.0 Vredo Trac Control system. Options include a tyre pressure adjustment system.

With an empty weight of 19.7t and a transport width of 3.0m, two pre-production machines will be put through their paces this season. The first batch of production models will be ready for the start of 2023 slurry season.
