Väderstad introduced a Central Fill seed hopper for its Tempo L precision planters last year. Now, the Swedish manufacturer has developed a version for seed and fertiliser.
Replacing individual hoppers on each row unit, the pressurised 7,200-litre split hopper (2,200 litres seed/5,000 litres fertiliser) on the latest version of the Tempo L is the same as that used on the new Inspire 1200 (12.0m) drill.
The larger hopper meant that the length of the drawbar had to be extended. The front of the hopper is equipped with two fans for high-capacity metering of both products and a new side platform has been added to the planter.
The seed metering system is the same as the current Central Fill seed models. Fertiliser is metered by eight Fenix III systems. Contained in the same new housing as the Inspire, the company says the new design will improve emptying angles.
Available from the end of next year, the new Tempo L (16 or 24 rows) models will be launched at Agritechnica in February 2022.
