A big surprise on the John Deere stand was the reveal of the X9 combine. The company remains tight-lipped about most of the technical details, but this is the firm’s first pure twin rotor combine.
There is no information on engine power or grain tank capacity, but we can confirm that the 13.7m (45ft) draper header, which is based on a totally new platform, is specially developed for European conditions and crops such as oilseed rape.
The physical dimensions are said to be similar to those of the current S790 flagship, but the capacity of the X9 is reported to be a big leap in capacity terms (100t/hr with losses of just 1.0%) The X9 is said to be close to a market launch.
