Valtra Q305: Familiar looking Q drives like a T

<p>Topping a five-model range that spans a nominal 230 to 305hp, details the Valtra Q305 were released earlier in 2022 but this was our first chance to take one for a brief drive. The biggest surprise? Were it not for the badge on the bonnet, we could well have been driving a T series with the company’s established Direct transmission.</p>

When we rucked up for a chance to see one of the first Q series tractors in the UK we were greeted with a T255, Q305 and the daddy in the Valtra range, the S394. The reason for the assembled trio was to give a visual overview of the three ranges and explain why the Finns have added a completely new tractor range.

Representing the most powerful model from the 155hp to 270hp T series, the T255 tractor was a top spec Versu model with the in-house Valtra powershift. Swapping over to the allnew Q305 and one thing was obvious. A T series in like-for-like spec with a Direct transmission will look and feel just like a slightly smaller version of its new ‘bigger’ brother.
