Massey has given a Stage V makeover to its lower horsepower tractors produced by Carraro-Agritalia. Read on to see what else the new models from Italy have to offer.
The new 3 Series versions suggest that Massey Ferguson continues to have the right Fergie for everyone. After all, there are now five models from 75hp to 120hp; widths are from a slim 1.00m or 1.25m for vineyard (VI and SP) and 1.45m or 1.70m width machines for orchards (FR and WF). These two latter models are also available without a cab — see the table ‘All models at a glance’ for the full picture.
The 3GE, on the other hand, is an extra lowprofile model without a cab for working under trees, in polytunnels or covered orchards, whereas the 3AL, with an external width of 1.70m or more, is designed for hilly terrain and comes with an optional extra-low cab. There are still four models in each of the GE and AL lines, between 75hp and 105hp.
3.6-litre FPT motor
All the new 3xx.85 to 3xx.115 tractors now have FPT’s new F36, four-pot, 3.6-litre motor that meets Stage V thanks to HI-eSCR2. This compact cleaning system has a particulate filter integrated into the selective catalytic converter so it tucks beneath the bonnet and doesn’t get in the way of any mid-mounted machinery. Visibility is also not impaired. The standard fuel tank still holds 75 litres (with a further 25-litre auxiliary tank as an option). Another new element under the hood is the near 11-litre AdBlue tank positioned at the front.
