Despite the tractor being brand new, there was an almost unbearable smell coming from the floor mat. So, we had samples analysed in the lab to see what was going on. The test results will be a wake-up call for some in the industry
“I suspect the rubber used for the floor mat of my tractor is contaminated. Can’t you, as a trade mag, look into it?” This was the question put to us by a profi reader who bought a new Massey Ferguson 5713 in mid-2019. His suspicion was the floor mat contained carcinogenic Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons or PAH.
