After an extensive revamp of its smaller Ranger models, Polaris has now updated the workhorse Ranger
Diesel, positioned as the most farmer-friendly offering, with more carrying and towing capacity and a range of improvements designed to protect both driver and sensitive working parts of the machine from the old enemies — mud and water.
Moving to a new engine brand and the introduction of a more powerful unit are aimed at challenging the Diesel’s reputation as a plodder rather than a thoroughbred. Polaris has taken components from its petrol UTVs, listened to cues from customers and sourced a new engine for its latest diesel model. We put it to the test in some soggy conditions in the Lake District.
