Launched at the end of 2012, the original Kubota MGX range was initially restricted in the UK to just the
four-cylinder 110hp M110GX and longer wheelbase 135hp M135GX. By 2014, the MGX-II series had
arrived and included the 100hp M100GX-II and 126hp M128GX-II. Come 2016, it was the turn of the MGXIII
series, now with five models on offer to span 99 to 143hp. Throughout it has been the more powerful
models that have sold in numbers, and it is these variants that we look at here
When first launched in 2012, Kubota UK suggested it would be the near 3.8-litre M110GX — subsequently the M105GX-III — that would be the top seller from the newly introduced MGX range. And so it proved. The more powerful 3.8-litre models, often with a Kubota LA1954E loader attached, hit the market with a good balance between size and power matched to a decent specification-toprice ratio. Add reasonable cab visibility, an eight-speed powershift 24 forward/reverse gear transmission, along with tight turn manoeuvrability, and it is easy to see why these models gained a significant following.
