Automatic milking systems (AMS) are just like any other machine on the farm — you need to know its running costs, which in the case of AMS include consumables such as water, electricity and detergent as well as how many cows a box can handle.
GEA is the second milking robot maker to brave our test for measuring daily running costs, putting forward its single unit Monobox. The test was carried out with the DLG, which, together with Dr Jan Harms from the Bavarian Institute of Agriculture, evaluated the results and highlighted how they can differ for four different farming scenarios
