Launched in 2011 the Vario SCR 720, 722 and 724 the range was subsequently expanded to include the fresh faced 714, 716 and 718, these lower powered tractors starting to sell from 2012. All models meet Stage IIIB emission standards, the SCR tag referring to the use of Selective Catalytic Reduction and the need for AdBlue. With preowned examples now proving easier to find, what should you look for when thinking of a used buy?
Making their debut at the Cereals Event in June 2011, the 700 Series inherited key design elements from the Vario 800 SCR and Vario 900 SCR tractors and in effect stepped into the shoes vacated by the previous generation Fendt Vario 820. A common factor between the three launch models was that they all offered higher than average power to weight ratios, with the lower powered 714 SCR (145hp), 716 SCR (165hp) and 718 SCR (180hp) further broadening what was on offer.
