REPORT: The Cereals Event moves to a new site this year – Bygrave Woods at Newnham Farm, Hertfordshire – on June 11th to 12th. There will be plenty of machinery on show, with an increased focus on working demonstrations looking at a variety of arable topics. We give a taste of what to expect.
Syngenta’s Sprays and Sprayers arena has a working demonstration at its heart with leading manufacturers of sprayers, components and accessories surrounding it. The event also plays host to the Farm Sprayer Operator of the Year presentation.
Amazone Pantera goes to 7000 litres
Amazone will show the 7,000-litre version of its Pantera sprayer for the first time in the UK. The largest machine in the firm’s self-propelled range, it is available in boom widths up to 48m and
comes with a new chassis system that self-levels on slopes and offers the ability to adjust the front and rear axle track widths independently. Unladen weight is under 12 tonnes with weight distribution maintaining a 50:50 split between the two axles. Although based on the wet system of the smaller 4504, the Pantera 7004 offers increased capacity all round with bigger pump capacities, more engine power and a stronger driveline. The more spacious Cat. IV cab features a new in-house produced armrest and joystick layout, ergonomically designed to suit self-propelled sprayers.
Both the existing Pantera 4504 and the 7004 now have the option of DirectInject, allowing the operator to add an additional agrochemical to the original tank mix on the move for advanced buffer zone spraying, tailoring growth regulator dose rates to suit the yield potential of the crop or to treat spot areas with a separate product.
