Case IH is going the full hog with its AFS Connect, a telematics system that not only allows remote diagnostics and fleet management but also documentation of field work. This is what it has to offer owners of a red fleet

With the introduction of the new generation Magnum (see profi 10/2019), Case IH also took the opportunity to completely rejig the electronic architecture of the tractor — so it could ‘talk’ to the web through a telematics system that the firm calls AFS Connect.

As part of a two-pronged approach, owners can register their farm and red machinery on mycaseih.com or, if buying a new piece of kit, switched-on dealers will take care of this. The platform is available for all current production machines, with the serial number giving you access to training videos, troubleshooting tips and maintenance instructions. For instance, if you are whipping round with the grease gun, you can use your smartphone to check where all the grease nipples are and at what interval they need a shot of lube. Case IH is currently considering adding this detailed info for its older machines, which are no longer in production, to the mycaseih.com site.
