A Finnish-made automatic TMR livestock feeding system has made life much easier for one of the country’s dairy farmers
When the husband and wife team of Ilpo and Tiina Wennström re-located to the dairy farm at Sykäräinen (near the Gulf of Bothnia in the west of the country) in 1996, their seven cows were housed in a tethered stall. They gradually increased the herd size to 30, but still struggled to make ends meet. In the end, with financial backing from the bank, they enlarged the size of the building, bought new equipment and more cows.
