A highlight on Zetor’s stand at this week’s České Budějovice farm show is a model from the new range of Crystal HD tractors, the flagship of which peaks at 171hp and is the most powerful tractor so far from the Czech tractor maker.

Power to both models, the Crystal HD 150 and HD 170, comes from a six-pot 6.1-litre Deutz Stage IV common rail block. The in-house produced Eco 40 30/30 three-stage powershift, which is already used in the Forterra, provides 13 gears in the 4-12km/hr range. When the tractor reaches its top speed of 40km/hr, the engine revs drop back to 1750rpm. The electro-hydraulic power shuttle allows the operator to change the direction of travel without changing gears or depressing the clutch pedal.

Other updates include raising the height of the suspended six-post cab by 10cm for improved operator visibility, front axle suspension, new dashboard and controls, air-conditioning and panoramic rear-view mirrors and roof window. LED work lights are optional, the maximum rear lift capacity is 8.5t, and the tractor comes with 300-litre diesel and 23-litre AdBlue tanks.

Safety features include new front and rear brakes, and both seats are equipped with a safety belt. The operator’s seat also contains a sensor that disengages the pto should the operator leave the seat. The pto can be activated using the external controls on the rear fender.
