Russian hydraulic systems and components manufacturer Kovrov Electromechanical Plant (KEMP) is to assemble Zetor tractors for the Russian market. The Czech tractor maker will supply its new Russian business partner with the components, and KEMP will assemble the tractors at its production site at the city of Kovrov, in the Vladimir region east of Moscow.

The first parts of over 100 Zetor Forterra 135s (Stage IIIa) planned for this year are currently being shipped to Russia. Branded as Ant-Zetor F4135s, the first units are expected to be on Russian farms later this year. KEMP will take care of all Ant-Zetor tractor business and service, and longer term the plan is to source more locally-made components.

The addition of Russia is a continuation of Zetor’s expansion into new markets. During the past few months the Czech tractor maker has entered Iran, Myanmar, Israel and Zambia. Negotiations continue in other parts of Asia and Africa.
