YTO is testing a 220hp rubber tracked tractor. The company could soon provide Chinese farmers with an alternative to imported western brands.

Called the CH2202 and believed to be the first such tractor from a Chinese manufacturer, the chassis on the latest prototype (first one was spotted mid-2023) was developed in-house.

The cab looks to have been borrowed from one of the firm’s larger wheeled models. What we do know is that the plastic diesel tank is integrated inside the wheel arches, the top speed of the powershift transmission is 32km/hr, and the adjustable track width makes it suitable for row crops.

The prototype is in tests and there could be some changes to the design. It is not yet known when the CH2002 will hit the market, but YTO is already talking about developing more powerful models.

The rubber track project is not the only one at YTO. At Agritechnica 2023 the company spoke about work to develop a new flagship 400hp wheeled tractor, and the first autonomous and electric YTO tractors are in development. More details:
