The 310hp X8, the biggest, most powerful tractor ever to carry the McCormick name will be on display for the first time at this month’s FTMTA farm machinery show.<-p>
Much has been written about the X8 over the past couple of years. To recap, the engine in the 10.8-tonne tractor is from FPT, and ZF supplied the CVT. The suspended front axle is from Carraro the hydraulics from Bosch Rexroth. The cab was designed, engineered and built by McCormick manufacturer Argo Tractors. Standard front and rear lift capacities are 5.5t and 12.0t respectively.
The newly-launched 141hp X7.440 P6-Drive four-pot tractor will make its first appearance in Ireland at the three-day show. One of a trio of X7 Series tractors featuring cab upgrades and Stage IV engines, a pto and transport power boost for all models takes the range to 176hp.
“This tractor provides a four-cylinder higher horsepower solution for the mixed enterprise farmer, with the capability to adjust to the work load,” says Will Doyle, McCormick national sales manager for Ireland.
Completing the line-up at the Irish show is an example from the 114-140hp X6 Series c/w hydraulic loader. The FTMTA farm machinery show takes place from February 7-9, at the Punchestown Event Centre, Naas, Co Kildare.
