Vogelsang is building a new assembly hall at its German headquarters at Essen (Oldenburg) to increase production capacity to meet increasing demand for its slurry spreading systems.
Costing roughly €4m, and due to be completed with the next few months, the 3,850m² building will used to assemble linkages and 24m versions of the BlackBird trailing shoe system. It will also contain offices and additional staff break rooms.
The plan is to cover the roof with solar panels. Calculated to generate up to 400,000kWh a year, this will cover part of the company’s annual energy requirements.
