Trailed models have been added to Amazone’s range of precision seeders. These are the Precea 9000-TCC and 12000-TCC with working widths of 9.0m and 12m respectively. Both offer row widths of 700mm, 750mm and 800mm. A central, 2,000l seed hopper holds up to two big bags.
A Central Seed Supply seed delivery system carries the seed from the central hopper to the singling units via an air stream. There, the seed for each row is temporarily stored in a small reception unit. Once this is full the air stream is automatically cut off by the stored seed, shutting off any further supply. When the seed level drops the air stream restarts and conveys new seed from the main hopper. With this system every singling unit is independently supplied with seed without the need for electronic sensors or controls.
The PreTeC singling units found on other Precea drills is used with these trailed versions. Air pressure presses the seed against a singling unit which reduces the power consumption of the electric drives for the individual rows. Optical sensors help prevent misses or doubles.
Furrow formers control seed placement and two carrying rollers and the high, hydraulically adjustable coulter pressure maintains a uniform depth.
The ElectricDrive electric metering drive is set using an ISObus terminal and offers part-area, site-specific rate control using GPS and field zone maps.
A 6000l, twin-chamber hopper allows simultaneous fertiliser application. Each has its own electric metering unit connected to a distributor head which offers half-side shut-off as standard.
A telescopic axle adjusts the tyres to run between the seed rows and when fully retracted transport width is 3.0m.
In the medium term models for closer-spaced row crops, such as beet, rape or soya beans will be available.
