Cornish manufacturer Teagle has been honoured with a Kings Award for significant growth in international trade. The firm’s range of Tomahawk bale processors are seen as a key part of this achievement for the family owned business which has seen increase in overseas sales in the last three years.

Teagle currently employs around 150 staff and makes a larger number of the components in house or sources them as locally as possible. The main export growth markets include France, Ireland, USA and Germany. It has also recently started shipping machines to India, Thailand, Vietnam, Chile and China with export now accounting for over 50% of business revenues.

“It is testament to every member of the team at Teagle that customers return to us time and again which has culminated in receiving this award,” says managing director Tom Teagle. “A focus on increasing export footprint gains us a wide range of experience, with our products operating in the most challenging conditions. We feed this experience back into our products to ensure that they stay at the forefront in their sector. The King’s Award for International Trade is one of the highest accolades any business can receive, and the success we’ve achieved illustrates the vital role small businesses like Teagle can contribute to the reputation of UK manufacturing. This award marks a milestone in the history of the company and is welcome at a time that farmers globally are facing significant challenges.”
