French farm machinery manufacturer Sulky-Burel and Brazilian sprayer maker Jacto have formed a strategic partnership whereby the French firm will provide Jacto with the technology needed to develop a new range of high-tech solid fertiliser and lime spreaders for the Brazilian market.
Brazil is a world leading producer of coffee, sugar cane and beans; the world’s second producer of soya beans and third producer of maize grain. Agricultural production is expected to double within the next 15 years, and the two family-owned businesses feel the time is right to seize the development opportunity.
Founded in 1948 by Shunji Nishimura, Jacto is based in Pompéia, Brazil, and employs about 1500 people.
