Lemken’s 2016 turnover of €325 million is similar to that recorded in 2015. Business in the main European markets, above all in Germany (26% of total sales) and France, continued to be weak, although the UK was relatively stable considering the impending exit from the EU. The company currently exports 74% of production, the value of which rose by €5 million during 2016 to €241 million. Increases in the company’s Central and Eastern European business, where Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria are largest sales regions, were particularly good, and this region accounted for a third of Lemken’s 2016 sales. Business also developed positively in Russia, and sales doubled in the Ukraine. Lemken’s top 10 markets also include Canada and China.

Lemken made 12,809 implements last year. The plough product group makes up the largest share in the total production and also delivered the strongest growth compared to the prior year. The firm expects business developments to remain restrained for the rest of this year.
