The higher quality images from the new digital camera system on AVR’s self-propelled Puma 4.0 potato harvester are relayed to two 12″ HD displays. Each one can simultaneously show images from up to eight cameras.
The new system provides harvesting, reversing, unloading and road modes, although operators can choose which images they want to see per mode, and the on-screen size and position.
Integrated camera heating systems are said to ensure clear images shortly after start-up when it is cold or misty, and in the future it will be possible to include additional on-screen information, such as web speed.
A similar camera system will be fitted to the company’s trailed harvesters for next season, but then with 10.1” touchscreens.
