The biggest news on Amazone’s stand was the new 3.0m Cataya power/harrow grain only drill combination. New from the ground up, the newcomer pairs with the firm’s new 01 Series rotary harrows and cultivators. The levelling boards are guided by the packer roller and not the power harrow, which says Amazone, allows the tines to be lowered at the headland to take out wheelings, without affecting the drilling depth.
The Cataya features certain technologies from the company’s larger drills, such as half-width section control, automatic headland shut-off and a new electrically-driven metering system. With a maximum seed tank capacity of 1,270 litres, the Cataya will be at Cereals, with availability following a couple of months later.
