It takes a while for the paint to wear off the mouldboards on a new plough, and until it does the soil adhering to them has a negative effect on performance. In order to solve this issue, engineers at the Kongskilde plough factory in Överum have developed a new plough body coating to shorten the run-in time. Called EasyClean, the company claims the two-layer bio-degradable coating is worn off up to 100 times faster than conventional paint. Tests show that this is achieved without compromising the protection of the mouldboard during transport and storage. Originally developed for the automotive industry, the treatment is introduced for all Kongskilde and Överum plough bodies produced from February this year. Plough bodies for replacement parts sales will also be treated with EasyClean. B
