Two new modifications to the Strautmann range of mixer wagons will allow farmers to save time and reduce costs. The first is the newly-designed Vario2 auger. Standard on all Strautmann mixer wagons imported to the UK by Opico, the stepped design of the auger is claimed to reduce mixing times by a minute or so per load. The second modification is an optional Innodur stainless steel wear strip for the leading edge of the auger. Prolonging auger life by reducing corrosion between mixes, the replaceable option costs £272 for a VertiMix 951 single auger feeder, and £943 for a VertiMix 3101 double auger model. Prices exclude VAT. A VertiMix single auger feeder with the new Vario2 auger will be on the Opico stand at the Royal Highland Show, Royal Welsh Show, UK Dairy Day and SW Dairy Show.
