Positioned next to the main tank, the stainless-steel hopper uses a sponge matering rollers which can handle anything from clover to peas without danger of over applying or damaging the seed. The rate can be controlled by opening the aperture or changing the speed from 1:1 up to 1:4. Calibration is done by diverting the seed to a tray.
The air supply comes from the main hydraulic powered fan. The seed can then be mixed and go down the spout with the product from the main hopper. Alternatively, for something like clover which needs to be kept shallow, it can be broadcast on the surface via five splash plates on the pictured 3.0m model. David says he is looking for a quicker system to change the route, currently you have to refit the seed the delivery pipe.
