Continental reckons the hard shell and flexible steel wire construction of the CompactMaster AG reinforced telehandler and skid-steer tyre helps prevent cuts and damage.
The twisted steel belt construction contains what Continental calls Turtle Shield, a new tread layer beneath the rubber to protect the tyre shoulder area from damage.
Compared to a standard agricultural tyre pattern, the new lug design provides a claimed 5.0% larger surface area. The wider tread and lug widths are designed to offer better traction on a variety of surfaces, enhance grip and improve the self-cleaning properties.
The CompactMaster can also run at higher pressures on the road and lower pressures in the yard or field when carrying heavy loads. Other claimed benefits include greater stability when making stationary turns on hard surfaces, increased traction in wet and slippery conditions and greater stability for materials handling work.
Capable of operating at speeds of up to 50km/hr, the new tyre is available in the size 460/70R24 159B.
