Exel Industries, the French owner of well-known brands including Agrifac, Hardi, Holmer, enjoyed a 13.7% increase in turnover in the third quarter of its 2022/2023 fiscal year to €310 million.

The three months (April to June) were particularly buoyant for Exel’s sprayer manufacturers (Agrifac, Berthoud, Evrard, Hardi and Tecnoma), sales of which increased 16.7% to €155.2m. Revenue increased across all regions, and especially in France and North America.

Sugar beet harvester (Agrifac and Holmer) sales were up by a whopping 55.6% to €34.1m. Stimulated by record high sugar prices, most of the increase was generated in eastern Europe.

Despite the slight decline in agricultural product prices over the last few weeks the order books remain well-filled for sprayers, and with rising sugar prices in mind, Exel expects fourth quarter sales of new sugar beet harvesters to be in line with 2021-2022 levels.
