Manitou net sales increased 17% during the first half of this year to €941 million (€805 million same six months in 2017).
The company confirms that business was buoyant in all areas of the world. Growth was particularly strong in construction and agriculture and the company’s material handling and access division achieved half-year revenues of €653 million, an increase of 16% compared to the first six months of 2017.
While €169 million (+15%) of Manitou’s half-year net sales were generated in the Americas, European sales rose by a third to €671 million.
Given the good performance of the first six months, the favourable economic climate and a fuller order book (€926 million first six months of 2018/€842 million same six months in 2017), the company expects to end the year with a sales revenue growth of more than 15%. Last year, Manitou recorded a turnover of €1.6 billion.
In this favourable environment, the Manitou group continues to expand its product range, grow market shares and increase production, says Manitou group president and CEO Michel Denis.
