The APS Synflow walker threshing system in the second generation Lexion 6000 and 5000 straw-walker combines is claimed to set a new standard for threshing and separation performance.
At the heart of the all-new threshing system is the 755mm diameter threshing drum (26% larger than the drum on the Lexion 600 range). Behind this the new 600mm-diameter separator drum provides additional separation of grain from the straw and the concave area has also been increased.
In addition to the new Synflow walker threshing system, all models have the Jetstream cleaning system, which was previously only found on Lexion hybrid machines.
Powered by either MAN or Mercedes-Benz engines, the new range comprises four six-walker 6000 and three five-walker 5000 models (compares to three six-walker and two five-walker models in the previous 600 range). The 6900 and 6800, two new top-of-the-range machines, provide a greater overlap between the Lexion straw-walker and hybrid ranges.
The Lexion 6000/5000 is powered by either MAN or Mercedes-Benz engines. Power outputs range from 313hp on the smallest 5300 to 507hp on the largest 6900.
The Dynamic Power intelligent engine management system, a new feature available on all 6000/5000 straw-walker models, automatically adjusts engine power output relative to load.
Grain tank capacity ranges from 9,000-litres on the smallest 5300 to 13,500-litres on the 6900. Access into the tank for cleaning and maintenance has also been improved. Seven different unloading augers with lengths up to 12.0m are available, which have a forward pivot angle of 105° for improved visibility. Depending on model and auger diameter, the maximum emptying speed is 180lit/sec on the 6900, enabling its 13,800-litre tank to be emptied in 75 seconds.
The latest touchscreen Cebis terminal is included in the cab and three is a raft of advanced automated operator assistance system options. The new armrest is fully adjustable for reach and height and also includes radio and telephone controls and a USB charger socket.
The new range also includes for the first time a tracked five-walker machine, the Lexion 5500 Terra Trac, which is only available as a tracked machine.
All wheeled machines are now available with a differential lock and larger tyre sizes can also be specified for both the front and back axle, going up to 42 inches and a diameter of 2.15m on the front axle and 30 inches with a diameter up to 1.75m on the rear.
