There is nothing official, but we understand that Case IH has been forced to change the name of its new four-model range of 100-130hp Versum CVXDrive tractors.
According to Dutch website Mechaman, the name is similar to that of a product from another manufacturer. Introduced during the French SIMA show in February, the situation is not only embarrassing for Case IH, but also costly.
Most mentions of the Versum have already been erased from Case IH websites, and we understand that dealers have not only been asked to trash all promotional material, videos and instruction books, but also delete any website information and social media posts.
According to Mechaman, it throws a spanner in the works for the planned production date of the new range because Case IH will have to re-enter the newly-named tractors through the homologation process.
We understand that the first deliveries of the new tractors will now not be until September when the first models were originally expected before the summer. At the time of writing, the new four-model range remains without a name.
