An increasing number of manufacturers have taken the lid of some of the new developments they plan to bring to Agritechnica next month. Dutch-firm Peecon will certainly attract attention with a novel system that allows tractor dual wheels to be quickly removed for road transport. Called Gull Wing, and awarded one of the show’s silver medals, the dual wheels fold hydraulically behind the cab when travelling on the road. In the field, they are quickly returned to the work position and locked into place with a special coupling system, all of which is done safely from inside the tractor cab. Peecon says the complete system can be easily removed, and reckons there could be possibilities to fit it to other machines, such as self-propelled forage harvesters.
