Tyre slippage on the rim is occurring more and more frequently, particularly on bigger tractors, reports GKN Wheels. Caused by the combination of high engine output, large implements, heavy loads, low tyre inflation pressures and dry ground surfaces, this results in a special challenge for the interaction between tyre and rim. The company’s newly-developed Profi-grip rim is designed to prevent tyre slippage on the rim. Developed to work on tractors up to 300hp, the new design has a more stable rim flange, and the contact pressure between tyre and rim is increased. The rim flange also protects the tyre during operation with a low inflation pressure, and during tyre mounting.
