Bauer’s new Turbomix MTXH tractor-mounted slurry mixer is designed for use in slurry lagoons and below-floor slurry tanks to homogenise solids and liquids in readiness for field application by tanker or umbilical system. Two hydraulic cylinders raise and lower the frame and a third is available to tilt the shaft to get access to an underground tank. Each of the three overlapping blades has a sharp cutting edge and a guard ring surrounding the 600mm diameter assembly is shaped to channel the flow of material over the blades. Buyers can choose from shaft lengths of 4m, 5m and 6m, which are designed to work in storage facilities of 1000-1400cu.m. An ‘L’ version with larger diameter blades and a reinforced tube in four lengths from 7m to 10m is also available. “Although a slurry mixer is a pretty simple device, the special design of the blades, together with the unusual protection ring, makes a real difference to its performance,” says UK & Ireland sales manager Adrian Tindall for Bauer. Prices start at £2,710 for the 4m Turbomixer MTXH.
