Easyfix has acquired Ameram Slurry’s Aeromix system. The deal is viewed as a strategic step in the development of the Irish company’s animal housing product portfolio.

The Aeromix system, which is to be rebranded by Easyfix Slurry Technology, has no moving parts in contact with slurry. Instead, the technology injects compressed air into slurry at specific points via non-return valves. As the oxygen bubbles rise through the slurry they agitate it and keep it in a liquid state.

Main benefits include a significant reduction (up to 51%) in ammonia emissions and increased production of nutrients in the slurry. Also, it eliminates the need for agitation and reduces odour during storage and spreading.

Grant-aided in the UK and Ireland, and available through selected Easyfix dealers or directly from the company’s head office in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, the concept is suitable for new or existing above or below ground tanks and lagoons.

“We believe we can take it to the next level by leveraging our existing scale, reach and dealer network to bring Easyfix slurry technology to even more farmers around the world,” comments Easyfix managing director Michael Earls.
