McArthur Agriculture is in the process of acquiring grain drying and storage equipment company BDC Systems. The deal is expected to be completed early April. Both companies will continue to operate independently and BDC Systems will remain at its Wiltshire base.

Part of McArthur Agriculture’s growth plan that will extend its range of grain drying, storage and processing products, managing director John McArthur said the acquisition ensures that two leading players within the post-harvest sector will continue to provide a range of proven equipment throughout the UK and Ireland.

BDC’s position as sole UK and Ireland agents for Skandia Elevator and Svegma remains in place and Andrew Head and Andrew Lee continue as directors. “We are confident that McArthur Agriculture who we know well, having been a BDC dealer for over 12 years, will take the company to the next phase of its growth following the acquisition,” commented Mr Head. “It will be business as usual for our suppliers, our dealers, their customers and our staff, well into the future.

“The acquisition is very timely as, after 13-years at the helm, Mr Lee and myself were beginning to plan how we could in the future, take a back seat at the same time as enabling BDC Systems to continue to thrive and successfully serve its dealers and their customers.”
