Slotting into the Series III line-up between the current 532-70 and 542-70 models, the mid-range 538-70 provides a maximum lift capacity of 3.8t and 7.01m of lift height.
Lift performance is said to be strong in the 4.0m-6.0m loading-at-height zone critical for stacking bales or loading grain, vegetable boxes and diet feeders; and there is 2.50-2.75t of capacity available at full height, depending upon the version.
Like all mid-range Loadalls, the 538-70 is available with a choice of four different transmissions, three power outputs and three standard feature and specification levels. The Agri variant comes with a 109hp version of the Stage V DieselMAX 448 engine coupled to the firm’s Torque Lock 4 transmission.
The Agri Super has 130hp from this engine and the standard transmission is a four-speed powershift; but along with the 150hp Agri Xtra, it is also available with a six-speed Autoshift with automatic and manual shifting modes. The Agri Super and Agri Xtra can also be had with DualTech VT box.
Standard equipment across all variants includes auto wheel alignment when switching between the three steering modes, and an auto reversing cooling fan that blows dust and debris from the air intake grille. Also standard is the Command Plus cab, 140lit/min load-sensing hydraulics, LiveLink telematics and automatic Smooth Ride boom suspension (option on Agri version).
