First announced at Agritechnica 2013, building work has started to re-develop the Deutz-Fahr tractor plant at Lauingen, in Bavaria, which when finished will allow the facility to make as many as 8,000 tractors a year from a single shift, and a maximum of 16,000 units a year.  Costing an estimated €75 million, when the construction work is completed sometime 2016, the new production site will cover a total area of 340,000sq.m. with 138,000sq.m. of covered floor space. In addition to state-of-the-art painting, hydraulic, electrical and electronic testing systems, there will be new testing and training facilities. “The start of the construction work represents a decisive milestone in the growth of the Deutz-Fahr brand,” says Same-Deutz-Fahr CEO Lodovico Bussolati. “At the same time we are also completing the high-HP product range with a new range of tractors up to 440hp. The next two years will be fundamental in the history of the brand.”
