The 75-year anniversary scrapbook has arrived just in time as a Christmas stocking filler treat for fans of JCB and its iconic machinery.
The story in the 144-page scrapbook is told through a collection of images from the company’s own archives. Packed with more than 400 colour and black & white photographs, some are published for the first time ever.
Founded in October 1945 by Joseph Cyril Bamford, the first 100 pages outlines some of the company’s finest moments on a decade to decade basis from the first trailer, produced from post-war scrap metal to the latest electric mini-digger.
There is a chapter on advertising and promotional material, and another on some of the company’s record breakers, including a section on the Dieselmax. The final pages provide a flavour of the future and the use of electricity and hydrogen to power machines.
“This book, I hope, will act as a celebration of the past 75 years: the innovations, the engineering excellence, and the achievements of all those who have made up the wider JCB family from its inception in 1945,” comments JCB chairman Lord Bamford.
“I hope, too, that it will serve as inspiration for the next generation – those talented young people currently rising through the colleges and universities, including our very own JCB Academy.”
