Weidemann’s electrically powered 1160 eHoftrac wheeled loader is now offered with a high-quality AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery. Contained in a leak-proof battery box, the new battery is less sensitive to temperature changes, generates less heat while charging and during operation, and eliminates the need to refill the system with distilled water.
However, the main advantage of AGM technology, which is also available for fitting to existing machines, is the integrated ‘onboard’ charging unit, which eliminates the need to maintain fixed charging stations. Charging is simple and requires a 230v plug with a 16-amp continuous current load. As before, there are two performance levels – the standard battery features 48v and supplies 240Ah, an optional battery raises the 48v to 310Ah.
Launched in 2015, the 1160 eHoftrac has been in series production since April 2015.
