Construction has started on a new five-storey R&D building at the Fendt factory site at Marktoberdorf.
The product range from the German manufacturer has increased significantly in recent years and the expanded range of high-tech machines takes up more and more R&D space.
Hence the new building, which when finished will provide plenty of room for the engineering teams to work on new digitisation, electrics and electronics projects.
Expected to be operational by May 2021, the structure will accommodate staff from the existing development team as well as 125 new mechanical engineers, electronics and IT specialists.
“The new premises will offer the best conditions for them to work on smart ideas and solutions of the future,” said Dr Heribert Reiter, managing director for R&D at AGCO/Fendt.
